Ashlene + Brent | july 10…Ferryland

Oh Blog I’m SUCH a tease! I tantalize you with a drop of sweetness and then pretend like we’ve never met…and by that I mean I do quick post-wedding blogs and then disappear for a couple of weeks.  Well no longer! I’m back, back in the blogging groove.

And to prove it, here is the full post of Ashlene and Brent’s kickbutt day!

Ashlene is looking a little on the serious side in this next series, but I promise the real her is FULL of laughter!

A HUGE shout-out to Tina, my awesome assistant/second shooter for grabbing this next shot…so beautiful and emotional…

And then my view as Ashlene and Brent left the church as husband and wife…

First duty as newlyweds was to enjoy an awesome day in Ferryland. The weather was changing constantly so sometimes it was overcast and other times we had a big blue sky…

Ashlene’s family owns the Lighthouse Picnics which was closed when we were there, but if you get a chance, GO! The food is unreal. And you eat on a blanket overlooking the water. Pretty rad…oh and there were whales that day!

My fave shot of the day, the bare feet do it for me…so natural and pretty.

Speaking of natural and pretty…

I love this shot of Brent on his family’s boat which is named after his mom; in memory of her we made sure to get to Calvert for a photo. Totally worth it.

Even Ashlene has to admit the weather was nicer in Calvert than in Ferryland ;)

Ashlene + Brent | july 10

The Ferryland vs Calvert war wages on and yet these two arch nemesis made it official yesterday!

The first photo: Ferryland.

The second photo: Calvert.

Score is tied 1-1. For now!

Gerry + Allison…you’re the measure of my dreams

When I brought up the subject of their blog  (while we were clinging to the seats of their Escalade on the way back from Ferryland) I wasn’t totally shocked that Allison had a title ready to rock, and it was from the Pogues’ A Rainy Night in Soho. She admitted she’d been thinking of a title for a while, which was sort of funny since it had only just donned on me to even ask her about it at that moment.  Are we sharing a brain or what Ally???  That’s a terrifying thought lol.

You’re the measure of my dreams.  When you consider Ally was thinking of Gerry when she spoke those words, it’s beautiful and powerful. I don’t know what else to say except you guys have been awesome! We’ve seen each other a bunch over the past year and I’ll be bummed if we don’t at least run into each other soon….take care, all the best, and I know you will love each other ’till the end (a little more Pogues for you).

This is Gerry and Allison’s little girl, Sarah Jane, doesn’t that innocent face make you melt a little?

The flowers Gerry sent Allison from ‘your husband’…awww…

Allison you are so beautiful!

A little moment during the ceremony…

I just loved how this little man got involved!

The flowergirl!  Hello, Hollywood?

Of course I have a lot of shots of Gerry, but I thought this one pretty much summed up his personality!

Out for a jaunt around Ferryland…it’s not a Newfie wedding if you’re not clinging to a rock somewhere!

Ok I have to admit, I would love a shot like this of me IF I ever get hitched one day!

We had to rock it out a little on George of course…

I heard more than a few gushes of how they couldn’t live without Jameson…gross! This was one shot I was NOT participating in…unless they wanted to see a photographer spew.

They had a terrific bridal party that were…um…energetic??

Thanks y’all!  And if you want to be notified when all the photos go online please leave a comment below. Cheers!

Ferryland

My friend Joanne and I booted ‘er out to Ferryland on Sunday and managed to catch a picnic on the last day it was open for the season! I’d never been out there before, however, Joanne got engaged there this summer *ahhhh*.  It’s about an hour outside of St.John’s and a 0.9 km walk to the lighthouse and picnic area…the food is stellar! The blue-tongue shot is us after fighting over the warm blueberry and blackberry dessert (soooo good people). Did I mention the goat cheese sandwich had the best cheese I’ve ever had?

There were people painting, couples cuddling, and in general just a lot of people trying to stay warm. Only in Newfoundland do you picnic on the side of a cliff in gail force winds in fog so thick you can’t see a thing.
