Haiti Relief {follow-up}

I still can’t believe how great the response was to my Cash For Comments *non*fundraiser last week!  I want you to know I take tithing and donating seriously and always make an effort to contribute 10% of all Lori Moss Photography income to worthwhile projects around the world and locally. And since I’m true to my word, here is a screen shot that shows I did actually make the $500 donation as promised:

P.S. I also followed through on my 24 hour fast on Sunday but the only proof of that I have are pictures from my 3 year old cousin’s birthday party where everyone else is enjoying cake and I’m looking weak and pale in the background :)

Cash for Comments now closed: THANK YOU!

492 comments in 24 hours? I call that a successful!  I will be making a donation of $500 to the Red Cross tomorrow that the government will match, bringing the total contributed to the Haiti relief effort to $1000. Holla for Haiti!

Haiti Relief ~ Cash for Comments

THANKS Y’ALL! It’s 4pm and the final number of comments is 421! Not bad right? That’s $842 for the Red Cross and I will top it up to make an even $1000. Holla for Haiti!

Haiti is in dire need of our prayers and international relief efforts. Their need is urgent so I will make this quick and let you know that for every comment left on this post in the next 24 hours (4pm NL time today until 4pm NL time tomorrow) I’ll be donating $1 to the Red Cross Haiti relief fund (up to $2000).  I think instead of one person commenting over and over it’s much more effective to spread the word about the situation facing aide workers and victims alike by forwarding this message.

I thought about just making a donation without doing this post, but I want you to spread the word! By leaving a comment here, clicking the links, watching the video, you are taking action.

P.S. I’m not in Haiti so obviously did not take this photo, but it’s so powerful.  No tears, no torn clothing, no one looking particularly distressed or disheveled.  This woman could be any woman walking down the street and taking care of business…it’s just so normal and human.
