A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away

I was born.

Today I am twenty nine.  29.  2-9.  That’s almost 30, but who’s counting? As a present to myself I’m FINALLY going to Europe in February!  I know, crazy cool. I give the best gifts ever.  I don’t know how I feel about the whole birthday thing, I know I feel older, wiser (pffffbt), possibly a little rounder around the edges and certainly more set in my ways, but I’m also alive and looking ahead to all the possibilities God is going to lay out for me this year.  Florida in January, England and Ireland in February, Cuba in early March, Dominican in late March, and then a summer jam packed with the most incredible brides and grooms a girl could ever ask for.

Thank you all for tuning in to see what I’m up to,  to read my ridiculous ramblings, and to see snippets of not just my life, but the lives of so many beautiful people (inside and out) as they start their new lives together.

If you’re wondering what a 29 year old looks like, here’s a few crappy photos of me from this past weekend at various events….I hope you all have a terrific Monday and a wonderful week :)

Guilt < Awesome

I’m soon going to start looking under my bed every night. Not for glowing eyes or unidentifiable storybook creatures that scurry back to their worlds when the lights suddenly flick on. No.  I’m going to keep an eye out for the Jewish mother that provides me with a constant supply of frowns, finger wags, and stink-eyes. She must be there, what other source could there be for the endless guilt weighing me down lately? Guilt over how great things could be, but instead are mediocre because I’m either too lazy, too uncoordinated, or too all-over-the-map to make things AWESOME.

Not one to speak abashedly about my feelings (at least publicly), I must say, I’ve been feeling underwhelmed.  In regards to pretty much everything; myself, my photography, my customer service, my house, my camera equipment, my car, my website, my relationships, my blog, my refrigerator contents, my bursting-at-the-seams laundry bag, my dog, my house (it’s worth a second mention).  The fact that these things are all a little out of control and unorganized is a virtually unrelenting source of guilt.  And then I feel guilty for feeling guilty over the trivial things.

So why share this heaping, steaming, pile of displeasure with you? Because you need to help get me motivated and I need to help YOU get motivated.  What’s holding you back? What are you doing half-assed that you could be doing AWESOME? Do you have questions? I may have the answers…we all have something to share afterall.

Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans. Be the change you wish to see.  And ya know, yada yada yada. I’m brewing up an idea, ney, a stroke of genius, to get at least some of your butts moving! You can’t change everything about your life all in one swoop, but you sure can chip away at things one day, and one success, at a time. Announcement coming soon!

Me being AWESOME a couple of weeks ago in NYC:

NYC: the place to be

I have a whole TOP 10 list coming from my NYC trip, but here’s a little sneak peek at the SEVEN Workshop Charla and I attended by Mike Colon.

Great model, great clothing/hair/make-up, and rickety balcony: awesome.

I grabbed this shot while the make-up artist was grabbing a shot of his own of Mike in action!

Pete + Lisa…11.07.2009

I’ve been looking at their names, their file folder, their future, for over a year. When the moment finally came to see Lisa on her wedding day, just as she was about to walk down the aisle, I have to admit I was a little misty eyed.  Not one for being a ‘girly girl’, Lisa was a vision of loveliness in the perfect fitting dress, silver heels, and beaming smile!

Congratulations you guys;  I hope the rest of your big day was as great as those first moments and that your life together will be filled with even better ones.

At The Keg where Pete and Lisa had their first date!

I would just like to point out, that shooting outside that day was not my idea :)

The cake topper. Not sure if she’s holding on to him OR pushing him over!

Lastly, I hope Matthew’s parents don’t shoot me for this one, but it was too funny not to share…
