Craig + Jennifer…hitched!

Tuesday there was a freezing wind and cold snow.  Friday there was a warm sun and a hot wedding!

Craig and Jennifer are truly blessed!  Although they had to change their date three weeks ago from July to May, their dazzling friends and family pulled together and made the entire day just stupendous! I know that word is lame, but whatever.

With the snow and wind nothing more than a faint memory, Craig and Jen’s wedding rocked! Thank you guys SO much for having me and for meeting with me over the past year to chit chat…and to Touton for giving me a reason to buy new shoes.

The bridesmaids gifts from Jen; I love her style!

Bridesmaid, Jules, chilling before she has to wear heels all day. That’s me in the mirror!

Best. Prep.Shot.Ever! And no, I didn’t set this up…

The girls having a laugh!

No glass? No problem!

As long as the bride has a glass!

Jen rockin’ it out before the ceremony!

…and then down the isle!  Hair miraculously still looking heavenly…

The happiest guy in the world!

Their Golden Doodle, Touton, goes in for a wedding kiss!

Feeling liberal in the limo :)

Oooh body language…

First dance as husband and wife!

Grooms: don’t shag it up

What do I wear?

How do I wear it?

Where do I go?

WHAT DO I DO?!

Just a sample of the most popular screams heard echoing around the globe as thousands of grooms struggle to cope with the daunting event that is matrimony.  But who really suffers due to the male’s lack of competence with large, girly, social gatherings? The brides. That’s who. And who’s going to make it all better? I am. That’s who!

If your man falls into the category of Wedding Inept (or if you are the groom and you’re smart enough to know you’re clueless) leave a comment and let me know you’re out there!  Trust me; you are not alone.  One lucky commenter will win this shiny new guide for men on how not to screw up your bride’s day, thusly landing yourself stranded with no wallet, no phone, and no pants on a deserted back road.

Is that a banjo I hear??

Happy planning!

100,000

If you had to, could you make a list of everywhere you’ve been in the last 5 years? Every kilometer you’ve travelled? Not many people could!  But I’m so fortunate that what I do for a living also helps me see and remember life.  The lives of others and my own.

This weekend while driving through Salvage (historical Newfoundland) my car rolled off its 100,000 kilometer.  I had to pull over (while also on the phone chatting to mom and dad in Florida about the Beluga whale I just hung out with) and take a picture.  Blog, it was monumental!  Oh sure, what’s one more mile? One more stretch of road? Why should it matter and why should you be here, now, reading about it?  Because I’m just a small town girl full of dreams who didn’t even know how to pump her own gas. Now look at me! It’s not that I never thought I’d go anywhere in life, I just didn’t realize how far I’d get and how far there truly is left to go.  It’s hard not to be discontent when you know there’s a whole world full of amazing people and incredible experiences calling your name, but patience truly is a virtue, and God reveals all in time.  I can wait.

Until then…big hugs to my Honda who has taken me across Canada, from Newfoundland to BC, three times and everywhere in between! Even though she’s my second baby (RIP Hyundai) I love her like my first born…

P.S. I’m trying out my favorite color on the blog and website: PINK!

Oh the places you’ll go…

Baby Beluga

This past weekend my friend Joanne and I took advantage of our small window of free time by heading to Eastport with the doggies.  The view was great, the food was great, and the weather was great! No complaints here.  Our goal for the weekend was to eat as much as we could and to hike as much as we could.  Check! Check!

On Saturday we hiked up to the first graveyard in Salvage which is so cool, I never get tired of going there.

Joanne brought her uber old film camera that I couldn’t get enough of…I bet the images that come from it are going to be grainy and vintage (two of my favorite things).

The highlight of the trip was of course getting up close and personal with a baby Beluga whale!  We were headed back to the car when a group from Gander invited us onto their wharf to check out the whale that had followed their boat for an hour and came all the way home with them…soooooo cool.  It’s the same whale that my parents had played with a couple of weeks ago (it loves boats and loves to play!).  These shots may not win me any National Geographic awards, but I may never get the opportunity to get so close to these beautiful whales again!  This Beluga is just a baby and is about 10 feet long…can you see the scars all over its body? Being curious can be detrimental to your health!

Taking a peak at me from under the shade of a Zodiac.

Joanne goes in for a quick touch.
