Installment 2 of Water Street night exposures. They may not look it, but these are wedding dresses. Very fitting don’tcha think? No pun intended. ‘Fitting’…they’re dresses…get it? Never mind. I shot these through a store window, the overhead lights made some interesting outlines.

Installment 1 of mine and Charla’s escapade on Water Street tonight. The goal? Long exposure night shot using a tripod without impaling myself or others. Done. These three shots aren’t necessarily ‘winners’ but they’re all slightly mysterious, which I like. This also marks my second attempt at using a tripod in my life. Go team Tripod.
As a side note, Ryan (Charla’s hubby) gets a special ’schanks’ for circling the block while we shot in dark alley ways. Wait…shouldn’t he have been protecting us??? Meh. I did have my circa-1980, very pointy, very sharp, very projectile-like tripod handy.

These are my good pals Tonya and Joanne who were nice enough not to hit me when I pushed them onto this step. When inspiration hits, sometimes you have to hit back. Um, wish I had something wittier to say. Annnnyhoo, I’m fiddling around in PS more these days and used this image as a guinea pig. It’s not my fave shot or anything, but it has some interesting lines.
Disclaimer: no guinea pigs were harmed in the making of this photograph.
