Mac Attack

Have you ever picked up a magazine or watched a video and thought ‘Dang! her lips are juicy’.  Well I am here, Blog, to say that you too can achieve runway-perfect kissable lips! Although this stuff is sticky and I get gobs of hair stuck to it, I love my Mac!  It’s a dire shame that they don’t sell it in Newfoundland, but when the mailman brought my package of lovingly made lip gooes, well I knew I was gettin’ my Mac on today!  If you’re new to the brand it’s a tad on the expensive side, but sooooo worth it…I can’t add enough oooo’s…I’ve been wearing it for almost an entire decade and the colors and products just keep getting better.  One HUGE HUGE tip of mine is to never leave the house without a light slather of their skin primer: it’s a pore-shrinking-oil-blasting-shine-killing powerhouse!  A must for shooting weddings all day.

This is my new fave: Slicked Pink in the lip gelee…around $16 but it’s a work horse.

My other favorite gloss that I’ve been wearing for years is the lipglass in Underage. Sooo pink…so dreamy…

Woah!

Time flies when you’re having fun! I swear that’s the only bad cliche I’ll use this post.   Charla and I finished up the last of our exciteYOU workshop series on Saturday with a session dedicated entirely to the business side of things.  Whaaa-aatt? you might say.  That’s right, business!  Uber important, but often overlooked in any artistic field.  We spent a solid 6 hours talking about the power of YOU *points finger at screen*.  Oh Blog, if only you could grasp your own importance! Your unique abilities and attributes make you YOU and make YOU successful!

It’s stuff I already know (of course…I was teaching it) but you never know what kinds of light bulbs are going to start flicking on and off rapidly in your head when you hear it all again.  It’s very much like hitting ‘refresh’ on your computer.  Since then, I’ve been totally re-evaluating my own image.  Or my lack thereof.

As a first step, I’ve renamed my blog!  It’s no longer lori-moss.com/blog (LAME!)…but now lori-blog.com …ZING!  Ok, it’s still sorta lame, but it’s less to type in (though you should all have me bookmarked :).

Psssssssst Charla and I are working on special stuff…keep an eye out.

Fashion 4Ward

A couple of weeks ago on a chill, brisk, kinda freakin’ cold afternoon, I met up with an equally freezing group of girls who had the misfortune of being infront of the camera, therefore not able to wear hiking books and big ol’ winter coat like myself.  To top it off, I dragged them to a snowy field.  Though I did warn them about the footwear!  After about 20 minutes I thought my shooting hand had frostbite, but we soldiered through! What’s that old saying? You have to suffer for your art? Or is it fashion is pain?

Brandi, who was the leader of the gang, heads up a great local organization called Fashion 4Ward that you can read about in this week’s edition of Current. My friend Joanne and I popped out to one of Brandi’s fashion shows Friday night and we really did have a great time!  Great models, great music (if anyone heard me audibly singing to Poker Face please forgive me) and even great dancing!  Oh to be 18 again.

As always, here are the outtakes!
