My Wish…

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow
and each road leads you where you want to go
and if you’re faced with a choice, and you have to choose
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you

- My Wish, Rascal Flatts

I just love love love that song! If you’re not a country fan, it’s still a great song full of powerful lyrics (in my simple opinion anyway). I thought it was the perfect ending to today’s ceremonies for Joanne’s convocation….read on…

I graduated from high school and that’s the last bit of schooling I managed to successfully complete.  Not to be self-deprecating, but school’s just never been my thing! I’ve always been a stare-out-the-window-daydreaming type of girl.  So when other people graduate from a school they’ve CHOSEN to attend I’m completely in awe.

My friend Joanne, boy she’s a smarty pants! Not only did she graduate from the Criminology program at Academy Canada today, BUT she graduated with Honors (90% or higher in every course), Distinction, and 100% Attendance! I’m totally impressed…did I mention she also won the Program Award for being the best in her program as voted by her teachers? Like I said: smarty pants.  I was just glad I could be there!

We didn’t do a grad shoot, but we snuck in a few minutes worth of shots before she had to line up for the Grad March: don’t you think Joanne totally rocked the big hideous grad gown?

HOW glad are you to be graduating??? THIII—–IIIS glad!

It’s a poor excuse for a photo, but this is Joanne accepting her Program Award:

and unbeknownst to me at the time, my friend Reggie (from my home town) graduated from the Cook program today; congratulations!

Joanne’s future mother-in-law, Lorraine, also made it out for the show:

one last sassy photo that I couldn’t resist sharing….who’s that? America’s Next Top Model?

Congratulations Joanne! Even though you’re studying how to cope with and end destructive behaviour, you’re still a badass to me!

To close the ceremonies, the class presented a Year in Review slideshow to this song…I just loved it! This video may take a few moments to load…enjoy.

Calling all GRADS!

YOU’VE PUT IN THE WORK: NOW HAVE SOME FUN!

I’m now working on my March/April/May grad shoot schedule, so if you’re graduating in 2009 and want to immortalize all your hard work (not to mention *the dress*) read on - then call to book!  This includes university students, too. Shoot dates are limited so don’t procrastinate (you can do that later…get it?…I know, my jokes are lame).

I love getting out there and taking some risks, but your grad shoot can be as daring or as serene as you’re comfortable with.  If you’re scheduling your shoot before your grad, we’ll take extra care with the dress. Note: if we miss your shoot due to weather, we’ll reschedule.

Here’s a breakdown of  how the sessions work:

  • Cost: $500. If you don’t need the bells and whistles listed below, we can discuss a reduced rate. Includes travel within St.John’s and CBS.
  • Includes: Up to 3 hours of shooting, 2 outfit changes, 10-page hardcover book, negatives, online viewing.
  • How soon do I need to book? At least 4 weeks before desired shoot date.
  • When will I see the images? Samples go on the blog within 2 days, all images are viewable online in about 2 weeks, negatives released in 4 weeks.
  • If I order prints online, when will I get them? About 4 weeks.
  • When do I get my book: About 4 weeks.
  • What should I wear? Just have fun with it!  We want to bring out your personality…walk on the wild side:) Polka dot rainboots? Feather hat? Why not!  If you’re into sports bring your uniform and equipment, if you’re a dancer bring your shoes, etc…Note: I don’t provide caps/gowns.
  • When and how do I pay? There are two $250 installments (one to book, one when we shoot).  The first payment is only refunded if we’re unable to rebook due to weather.  A check, money order, or email transfer is appreciated.
  • What time will we shoot? Be ready around 3.
  • Where will you meet me? We’ll start at your house then head out to your favorite spots!

If you have unanswered questions please email or leave a comment here and I’ll get back to you asap.
